Automatic Motion analysis of a wiplash test (Simulation of rear end collision)

LIMtrack6D is used for the fully automatic evaluation of a wiplash test. A wiplash test simulates a rear-end collision and is used to assess the safety of seats according to NCAP.
By using the 6D marker and measuring the 3D coordinates with just one high-speed camera, the preparation time (camera alignment, etc.) and the movement analysis of the markers are significantly simplified compared to 2D marker tracking.
The application modules integrated in LIMtrack6D automatically calculate all relevant variables and their maximum values with their time from the start of the test: The relative speed between the dummy head and the sled as well as the rotation of the seat backrest are determined.
