Strain measurement of a CFRP Tie Rod (Formula 1) due to tensile and compression load

Longitudinal strain of a composite tie rod at dynamic tension and compression load. The strain is full field measured with a Q400 3D-DIC system.
The diagram shows the time course of the locally maximal strain at changing load.
