Compression test of a Aircraft Panel

The buckling of an aircraft panel during a compression test is measured with the Q400 3D-DIC system. The Q400 system gives fullfield 3D displacement of the panel surface.

The images show the test stand with the compressed panel as well as the overlay and 3D visualization of the z-component (out-of-plane) deformation (=buckling) .

This application example shows the high spatial resolution and high measurement accuracy in all spatial directions x,y,z that can be achieved with a Q400 system.
