Tuning fork

Determination of the Eigenfrequency of a tuning fork. Excitation with an impuls hammer.

Figure 1 shows the tuning fork with about 80mm fork length.

For the horizontal displacement measurement of the top edge a RTSS-System (RTSS_HS) with 1.4kHz measurement rate is used. Figure 2 shows the time plot of the displacement.

Figure 3 shows the fourier transformation of the displacement. From this the Eigenfrequency is measured: 440Hz reflects the tone A of the tuning fork.

This measurement shows, that a RTSS system can be used to measure online fast movements on periodic and non perdiodic events.
