The measured strain map is shown as an image overlay plot with false colour scale. Local strain maxima ("hot spots") can be gained easily.
With the digital image correlation technique, object's contour, displacement and strain is measured contactless and fullfield.
It is also used for the determination of material parameters like Young’s modulus and Poisson's ratio.
